The public board vs the farm crew (QR code) page
There are two views of the same farm. Each has its own QR:
Public board — barn
farm.10600.xyz — calendar, tasks, weather, news, guest book. No password. No phone numbers or email addresses. Same as the tablet.
Farm crew login — lock
Farm crew (QR code) page — same tools, plus phone list, editing, exports, and deletes. Password required.
The two QR codes
Barn opens the public board. That is what sits on the tablet and what guests can share.
Lock opens the farm crew (QR code) login. Scan it only if you already have the farm password and you need phones or edit tools.
After you scan the lock, the phone asks for the shared farm username and password — not Gmail or Apple ID. The QR is not the password. Wrong password means you stay out.
Neither code is barn Wi‑Fi or a payment code.
Calendar
- Tap a day to add or open events. Scrolling will not open a day.
- Events may be all-day or timed, one day or several. A bar that runs across squares is one stay. Arrows on Sat/Sun mean it continues next week.
- Holidays and sky events are decorations on the board. They are not in the subscribe feed.
- Subscribe iCal = events people added, nothing else.
- A reminder emails the chosen contact only if they have an email and their envelope is on.
Daily feeding
- Morning (5–11) and evening (3–9) Ohio time, a splash asks if cows, chickens, and dogs are fed.
- Tap each animal when done. Later hides the splash; the pills under the title stay as a preview.
- Checks reset at midnight. These are not regular tasks.
Tasks
- Folders can be dragged to reorder. High / medium / low changes the color.
- Assign someone from the list. Envelope on → they get a bundled email about changes (~1 minute later).
- Finished work goes to Done. Notes stay on the task.
- Farm crew can delete events from the farm crew (QR code) page. Task and contact delete still need the admin login.
Guest book
- Leave a name plus a phone number or an email (one of the two is required).
- Turn the envelope on only if you want assignment and reminder mail.
- Phone numbers and email addresses stay off the public screen. Farm crew sees them after farm crew (QR code) login.
- Two people cannot have the same name on the list. If you enter a name that is already there, the hub will stop and ask you to merge the new details into the existing card (or change the name).
Notices come from farm@10600.xyz. That address does not take replies. Use the board or a real person on the farm.
Weather and news
Tap weather for official NWS forecast and radar. Sunrise, sunset, and moon phase sit under today. The red bar is headlines; touch it to pause.
Treat the public board as public
A visitor, a photo of the tablet, or anyone who finds farm.10600.xyz can see names, task titles, and event titles. Write accordingly.
- No gate codes, lock combos, card numbers, or “house is empty.”
- No phone numbers in task or event titles. Use the guest book.
- First names unless two people share one.
- Envelope on only when that person asked for mail.
- Do not share the farm crew password. Do not post the farm crew (QR code) address.
- Do not leave the farm crew (QR code) page open on the kiosk or a borrowed phone.
- Do not photograph the farm crew (QR code) contact list.
- Admin delete has no easy undo.
